  1. My mom is special because she is a very intelligent person when it comes to being a mother. She has always been there for me even through the rough times. She listens to me when I need someone to talk to. She was my age once so she knows what I go through and how hard life can be at certain times. Since I am an only child it makes it easier for her and that way she can go to all of my sports, meetings, and etc. Even though she may not know it when she goes to all of my events, it means a lot to me.
Whenever I need some item for either school or a sport, my mom my mom makes sure I am set no matter how much it costs.
Ever since I was little she has been teaching me right from wrong and that is probably why I don't get into trouble in school She takes me places and does things with me so we can have mother, daughter bonding. I know I am lucky to have a mother like her. I would be lost without my mom.
She truly is my hero. "Mom, if you're reading this I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day."

    Samantha Heishman, age 14- Fremont

    2) I love my mom because she has taken care of me since I was a little baby. My mom always hugs me, loves me and tells me I'm special. She wants me to be my best. She helps me with my homework and teaches me my math. She takes care of me. When I am sick she gives me medicine. She cooks good meals and gives me snacks.Mom spends time with me. She plays with me all of the time. She plays dolls and games and does puzzles with me.
My mom and I love pets. When I was one year old she get me a cat named Snowball. She gave me a cute little dog named Angel and when my dog Arizona died she got me a dog named Oreo.
Mom wants me to look my best. She buys me new clothes. She irons my clothes for school every morning. She pulls up my hair. She gets my toothbrush ready for me. She knows I like to read. She buys me books and takes me to the library and
    sits and reads to me.
My mom thinks I'm an angel. I think she's the world's great mom!

    Lauren Fisher, age 8-Bellevue

    3) Why "Our" Mother, Maleah Willis is so special to us and many others.
Where do we begin? Let's just say she has never done anything to harm her body-never smoked, never consumed alcohol, but yet she's so sick-but with the Lord by her side and family of course, she has been such a trooper and has never wanted to give up.

On March 18, 2001 she had a liver transplant and it was a success. Thank
God. She has been put under 41 times with all her endless medical problems and now her kidneys are failing and the antibodies in her blood are making it very difficult for them to find her a match, she's on the transplant list again. My sisters, brother and I, friends, cousins and grandchildren have all been tested but none of us cross match.

February 22, 2007 she started dialysis to help with her kidney functions
and still such a trooper. She does dialysis three times a week for four
hours each time. Our prayer chain is endless and hopefully someday soon by God's grace we can find her a match.

She deserves to feel better and enjoy the rest of her life. She's not only a
very special lady, she's beautiful in many ways. The doctors call her a
"Miracle Patient". She's definitely a miracle to us. She is what keeps us
    all strong.

    Melissa Willis & Family-Fremont

    4) My mom's special because she always buys food for my family. She sells candles for a living and most moms don't work they make their husbands do it. She always likes children. She always works in the nursery at my church.
She's always nice to people. Whenever she punishes me she always gives me another chance. She's always in stress but she always gets over it. She always buys me presents for people. She always takes me and my brother to Cedar Point and parks and plays with us and takes us on bike rides. She's a really great cook. Whenever I play sports she tries to make it to every
game. She supports me in sports. She tries to have fun with me and my brother. She does a lot of laundry at our house. Whenever we go out to eat she pays for the food. She deserves a lot and that is why my mom is so special. Noah Henkel, age 8, Fremont

    5) My Mommy is special to me for many reasons. Mommy is my special angel. She is always there for me. When I have a runny nose she wipes it, brushes my tears away and kisses my boo-boo's to make them all better. At night when there are monsters in my room she chases them away just like Scooby-Doo does, she's very brave, my super hero.

Mommy makes me my favorite lunch all the time, grilled cheese. It's the best and very cheesy. Mommy plays the gingerbread man with me and chases me. "Can't catch" me I yell. When she catches me she gobbles me up like a yummy
    cookie.
I have learned to count, my ABC's, colors, and shapes from my mommy. I am a smart boy and do good work in school thanks to the time mommy spends with me.
Mommy and I do a lot together. We go to story time, do crafts, read books and play. My favorite time is bath time, we splash in the bubbles together. I love my mommy a lot, that's why she is so SPECIAL to me!

Mommy: Dundee Lee Anadiotis byHunter Anadiotis-Amherst

6) Why is my mom so special? Well because she cooks for me, cleans my room, does the dishes, does hair at our house, does the decorations for each season and celebration, and makes me feel better when I’m sick or when I am having a bad day and last but not least helps me with my homework projects. I think she should get rewarded because all I can do for her is buy her stuff and color her pictures. We hardly go out to eat because my mom has such good cooking. Sometimes I think she should go to Emrald. She’s gone through the death of her mother and still holds on. Sometimes she lets me go over to my friends house, she taught me lots of things, like how to do hair, and ride my bike and many more. My mom lets me play soccer and gave my brother a basketball hoop she lets me go on the computer and most of all she doesn’t do the "grounding stuff". THANK GOD. She helps me through hard times, plus gives my brother and I GREAT birthday partys. MY MOM IS SO SPECIAL.Mom Barbara Kerbel

Daughter Taylor Haar, age 11-Woodville

 7) My Mom is so special. She lets me and my sister do makeovers on her, and then she lets us take pictures and show everyone on the internet. She is really a fun mom. We do crafts and make things together. She is always taking me and my sister to swimming, gymnastics, or soccer. She never complains or thinks about herself.

She feeds me scrumpdiddlyumptious meals, and sometimes we even have a "night of Sillyness" where we eat with funny things like skewers, measuring cups and baby bottles. Then we feed each other dirt (pudding) and worms without being able to see what we are doing. She is really silly and makes me laugh all the time.

She taught me how to swim really fast. We watch movies and read books together. She knows a lot of things. She helps me with my homework. Whenever I ask her questions, she gives me the answer or finds out. She is very, very SMART. I think she is the smartest mom in the world. It doesn’t matter if I win this contest or not but I still love her. That’s why my mom is so special.

Hannah Cornelsen, age 8-Sandusky

8)My mom is very SPECIAL! She does not get a paycheck for all the jobs she does for our family and she will never get laid off. My mom is rewarded with hugs and kisses. She helps me with my homework and reads to me just like a teacher. When I am sick my mom is my nurse and gives me medicine and bandages for my scrapes and cuts. If I need to go places, she is my chauffeur, bus and taxi driver.

Another job is a maid who helps me tidy up my bedroom. As a cook she makes yummy meals and bakes great chocolate chip cookies. My mom is a counselor to me because she is a good listener who helps me solve my problems. My mom has given me many wonderful memories on my birthdays, holidays, and family vacations. She loves and cares for our family. I like her happy smile and loving heart.

I am very lucky to have such a special mom! She is the best mom in the world! I love you mom!

Katie Wolschow, age 9-Perrysburg

9) I wanted to let you know why my mom, Judy Cooper, is such a special mom. My mom had me right after she got out of high school. Her and my dad separated when I was one year old. She packed up all of our stuff and moved us 250 miles for our original home. My dad never came around or helped her out. She ended up going through a bad divorce but she always kept her head high and never let it get in her way of taking care of me. While working full time she put herself through college and even had time to be at all of my soccer games, football games and baseball games. She was my mom and dad in the stands.

She also went through ten years of scouts with me. She was the leader for each of my five years of Cub Scouts and stood behind me 110% to becoming the Eagle Scout that I am today. After waiting fourteen years of raising me and showing me how great life really can be, she finally found that someone special to spend the rest of her life with. I am so happy for her. So if she would win this prize it would mean so much to her and be a special way of showing her how much I appreciate all she has done for me and others. I love her for always being there for me.
Thanks,
Greg Hostetler, Jr. Mom Judy Cooper-Fremont

P.S. It is so hard to put in such few words all that my mom did and still does for me and so many others.

10) My Mom Is Special!
This is why my mom is special. My mom is special because she is the one who gave birth to me. She is special because she will always be there for me. She takes care of me and buys me all of these neat things. She is special because she taught me how to walk. She taught me right from wrong. She taught me how to talk. My mom is special because she supplies a roof over my head and water so I can shower. She will do my hair for the dance and she will cook me food so I do not starve. She goes to school or work know matter how bruttle it can be just for me so
I can live. My mom studies on the weekends just so she can make money.
My mom does my nails. She takes me and my family to hotels like Castaway-Bay, Great Bear, and Kalahari. She supplies a bed and heat for me so nice and warm. My mom is special to me because she is my mom. She
brought me into this big world. She is the one who taught me how to ride my bike. She bought me a book shelf so I could hold all of my books on it. My mom gave me a television when I was nine years old when I was only supposed to until I was thirteen. She gave me my own phone when I was seven. She helps me sew. She once sewed a purse with me. She buys me so much cloths and shoes. When I went to Cast-away-Bay for Easter she bought me so many tokens that I got almost one thousand tickets for prizes. When I went to Kalahari she gave so many tokens I got over two thousand tickets to use on prizes. And most importantly because she is my mom and I will always love her. That is why I think my mom is special.

 11) Why is my mom so Special? "All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother". I believe in this quote so much. My mom has been an inspiration to me my whole life. From raising my sisters and brother and I, to supporting my decisions in life. My mom has been there for me my whole life. She works hard to give me a great life and to make sure I have all the things I need. She also gives me a little more than that. Her love is always there and I know when I need someone to talk to she is always there too. In life you meet great people and my mom is one of those people. She works hard at her job and comes home and works even harder. I love my mom so much words can't explain how much she means to me. Those are just a few of the qualities that make my mom so special! If you knew her you would know exactly what I mean.

Becky McElfresh for Mom Eve McElfresh-Fremont

 12)  My Mother is so special to me and. my brothers and sisters. She is the best mother any one could have". My little mother "as I affectionately call her, had travel to Texas just to have me! As she was from a warmer climate and had not experienced the harsh weather of the Northern-Ohio country. She was so afraid of the snow and that the baby she was carring would freeze, so Dad took her back to Texas, just to have Me--I was born in January 10, 1952 in the dead of winter in McAllen,Texas. Mother, brought me back to Ohio when I was 3 months and I am the fourth oldest of our large family. Dad and Mother married in 1945, Dad being 21 and she was only 15. Dad was off to war and came back four years later from World WarTwo and off they went and started our gang of 4 brothers and six sisters. To this day, I ask her, gosh Mother how did you do this? And raise all of us--as we all grown now and average two to three children each.? She smiles and answers well, I was very young and you all helped me along too, so in a sense we all grew up along with her, in all my days she never complained or, ever showed us she was sick- she was our nurse and doctor. Dad was too busy working, Mother did it all and for that I will forever be grateful. Mother never traveled much, in her youth as she had so many children. Our dear Dad is sadly gone now, but last November I took her on a cruise, She was so worried and did not want to go but, all of us persuaded her and she had the best time of her life-she has given so much to us all. I just have to give her this! just to make her smile once more .Happy Mother Day to My Little Mother.

13) My mom is so special because she not only works 40 hrs a week she makes time to do things with me. Like take me to school and to my Martial Arts classes 2 times a week. She always makes my birthday special by giving me a big party every year. She has stayed up all night with me when I've been sick even when she had to work the next day .not only is she good to me she does stuff for other people she would rather do for others then for herself. She has stayed with my grandma her mother-in-law when grandma fell and broke her arm and leg she had to cook for a lot of people for thanksgiving because grandma couldn't do it. She also does things for the people she works with like for their birthday she make sure the have a cake and stuff that she buys with her own money. She also has set up a savings account for me that she puts money in for me so when I get older I hope to have enough to be able to buy a car with. She likes to go on long walks with me and my dad she also helps me with my homework even if I have to go to work with her till my dad gets off and comes and get me she always makes sure I get it done.I also know my mom loves me because she tells me ever day. That is why I think my mom is so special and why I love her too. Thank You

  14) Why My Mom is So Special

My mom is Tricia Esker and she is so special because….

She helps out at my school for fundraising and other stuff. I admire her because she helps me with my homework and let my brother and me get a dog. We named the dog Brutus. Although he bites we still love him.

My mom has had a tough year because her mother, Pat Willis, who was my grandmother, was very sick and then she died. She and my mom were best friends and it is very hard on holidays without her.

On holidays my mom takes us to see her sister in Iowa and many other relatives so we can visit our cousins.

She takes us to the park and watches us play, and she takes us to soccer and softball practice.

I think my mom is generous because she works at Bethesda as the beautician for the residents, and she also works at Memorial Hospital in the lab as a phlebotomist.

My mom makes the best spaghetti and potato salad like my grandma, and she bakes lots of cookies.

I also admire her because she helps out at my CCD as a teacher.

Paige Esker, age 10 for Mom Tricia Esker-Fremont

15) Why my Mom is Special!

This is why my mom is special. My mom is special because she brought me into this world. She is also there if I need someone to talk to or I need help with my homework. My mom shows me how girls act and also tells me things that I will need to know about the world when I grow up. My Mom goes to work no matter what so that my family and I have food, a house, and clothing every day. She also buys me neat little things all the time.

She tells me to enjoy being a kid. My mom taught me to be kind and to be forgiving. She may yell a lot, but that’s my own fault for messing up and I got myself into that. I know she loves me and my brother very much. Over spring break we went to Cast-away-bay with friends and it was so fun. We went swimming, to the arcade, and out to eat! At first we weren’t going to go, because we needed to get the car fixed, but we got the car fixed and went to Cast-away-bay!! That was the best Easter ever in the history of Easters! I was so happy we went to Cast-away-bay. It was so fun, but we had to wait for 3 hours for our rooms. When I grow up I want to be just like my Mom. There is only one thing to say: I LOVE my MOM!

16) My mom is so special because she is the one that has the biggest place in my heart. She means the most to me out of anyone in this world and no one could change that or make me feel differently. My mom has been there for me when I needed a shoulder to cry on, I had problems and needed a solution, or when I needed advice on just the littlest things. My mom isn't like a regular mom, she likes to have fun and likes to be the spotlight of the crowd. She doesn't care what anyone thinks of her and that's what makes her so great. She does everything in her power to make sure things are going right and she gives a %110 percent towards everything. I know if I ever need a best friend, I won’t have to search very far. I could have a best friend then all of a sudden that changes, but with a mom like the one I have, I know I won’t have anything to worry about. She is the greatest and that's what makes her so special! By: Samantha Rendon - Fremont

17) My Mom is so special because she always does things for us and never does anything for herself. She always helps us with our homework and always cooks dinner for us after she gets home from a long day at work. When it’s nice outside she likes to take us on long bike rides on the trail. My mom is so special because when we need her she is always there for us. My mom is very pretty and deserves to have a spa vacation to get massages and be pampered for herself. My mom would love to get the weekend getaway so that we can relax and have fun. We always talk about getting massages together and this would be great if we could be pampered together. My mom is the best mom in the whole world and she would be so happy if I could surprise her with this package.

Mom Carey Heyman by daughter Alyssa Halbisen-Fremont

18) My Mom is one of the greatest and most special people I have ever known. From the day I was born I know my mom has made me her biggest priority. No matter what I do I know my mom is always proud of me. She is my idol and my hero because of how great of a person and a mother she is. My mother is very kind and is always willing to help people. One day I hope that I can be as good of a mother as my mother has been to me. And I know that she loves me very much. It’s like my mom always says sometimes she may be disappointed in me but no matter what I do she’ll always love me. My mother is the one that I run to when I’m upset and she is the one I run to when I need advice. My mother always gives great advice because she’s been through what I’m going through now and even though sometimes I don’t want to admit it I know she’s right and that I should listen to her. These are just a few reasons why my mother is so special.

Daughter Jenny Star for Mother: Julie Star-Fremont

19) My mom is so special because she taught me how to be a strong mother. She taught me strong moral values. She always encouraged us to pursue our dreams and goals. She never told us we weren't good enough, in her eyes we could do anything. She showed unconditional love and pride in all of us. She put her children and grandchildren before herself. She has been to all of our plays or sports or any extra curricular activities no matter how tired she was after work. She let us have friends over when ever we asked and treated them as if they were her kids also. She always welcomed our friends and their families into our home. She taught us to stay close and be there for one another. She was there for her three kids no matter how tired or sick she felt. She sacrificed in so many ways to give her children a better start in their life.

My mom Charlene Robinson has been one wonderful role model.

Mother Charlene Robinson -Clyde by Daughter Crystal Nyomo

20) Why is my mom so special?

She loves us. Because she's kind to us. Because she buys us stuff? My mom helps me with my homework at night. She helps at school in my kindergarten class at St. Peter in Huron. She makes me smile everyday. She works hard to pay for things like my new Barbie. She reads to me and I read to her and we play together. Mom takes me to school. She is special because she's a mom and she's my mom and I love her very much! She takes me places - like to dance class, art class, school, swimming lessons and wherever I need to go. She is there when I get home from school. She gives me cheese sticks. She does recess at school and watches me eat my lunch and clean the tables on Fridays. And she does everything at our house that daddy does if he lived here, but he doesn't. The end.

Daughter Allison Gresh, age 5 for Mother Angie Gresh-Huron

21) Why My Mom is Special!

My mom has loved me everyday from the day I was born. I have also loved her ever since too. My mom has never let me down even when times were tough. She always comes through for me when we have to do something I don’t want to.

Every night even when she’s watching her favorite show she will come up and tuck me into bed. My mom always knows what I want so I don’t have to worry when she goes shopping for me. If I’m having trouble with homework or learning a new ballet move she’ll be there to help me figure it out.

My mom is loving to all of us, me, my brother, my sister and foster brother. She really loves my dad too. She never singles one of us out. If my family is in a bad mood my mom will say something funny to cheer us up.

My mom loves my family and we love her more. I’m glad she’s my mom she’s my friend.Mother Brenda Shoemaker

Daughter Katie Shoemaker, age 11-Fremont

 22) There are many reasons my mom is special. First, she always sacrificed so that her children were taken care of. We have gone through a few rough periods in our life, but my mom has always gotten another job or worked throughout the night so that I could go to college or my brother and sister had their books for the year (they are both home-schooled). She has always put us before her. Second, she leads by example. My mom has MS and while she is fortunate enough that she can still run, walk, jump, she endures great physical pain each day, but rarely comments on it. She tells us daily how thankful she is that she is still able-bodied. She looks for the positive in every situation and that is what she focuses on. Finally, she believes in each one of us and is our biggest supporter. We each know that no matter what we do, we can tell our mom and even though she may not be happy with us, she will always love us. We each have a bond with our mom that can never be broken.

Mother Angie Laughlin by Daughter Niki Smith-Fremont

23) Why is my mom so special to me? I’m proud of her for overcoming a lack of a college education and becoming an asset to her job. As we’d go on vacations she’d say, I talked to the sales rep here. The make this and they use it for this. It was always interesting. Then they went world wide! That was awesome! As her retirement party they named her, "Mother Crescent"!

For my kids, she spoils them! Makes their beds on sheet day, she always cooks their favorite foods. She bakes the best cookies, even her great-grandson in NC will agree to that. She takes the time at every holiday to do cut outs for everyone.

I’ve been having health problems so now we live with my parents. They built the kids bedrooms in the basement. Mom insisted that I take my old room, so she can make sure I’m okay. She makes sure I go to my appointments.

She helps me make decisions. You know how teenagers like to test their boundaries! Plus as a single parent it’s hard to be there for both kid’s activities. So my mom is right there to help. Even though my mom retired, she still needs to learn how to relax.

This sounded so awesome of an opportunity to show her how I feel. Thank you!Daughter Deb Bush for Mother Beverly Bush-Clyde

24) MY MOM IS SO SPECIAL BECAUSE............... MY MOM HOME SCHOOLS FOUR KIDS PLUS A BABY AND TWO DOGS! SHE SPENDS TIME ALONE WITH GOD IN THE MORNINGS, THAT'S HOW SHE SAYS SHE IS ABLE TO DO THIS. SHE TEACHES US ABOUT GOD. HOW HE DIED ON THE CROSS FOR US. SHE IS NOT AFRAID TO LIFT HER HANDS IN WORSHIP.

I WENT WITH HER TO GET TWO CHIHUAHUA'S FOR CHRISTMAS. WOW!! NOW THAT'S PECIAL! MY MOM TAKES OUR BABY SISTER TO PHYSICAL AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY FOUR TIMES PER WEEK. SHE IS A WIFE ,TEACHER, AND MOM. IF YOU'D ASK HER A FEW MORE ALSO!! SHE TAKES GOOD CARE OF US. I DON'T BELEIVE THAT SHE WOULD BE ABLE TO DO ALL THIS IF SHE DIDN'T KNOW JESUS , AND PUT HIM FIRST. MY BABY SISTER ALSO HAS A HURT EYE THAT IS SMALLER ,AND WE WANT IT TO BE ABLE TO SEE AGAIN. MY MOM IS PRAYING , SHE HAS TAUGHT US TO PRAY ,AND SHE HAS MANY PEOPLE PRAYING THAT JESUS WILL HEAL HER.

IF IT WASN'T FOR MY MOM WE WOULD NOT BE THE KIDS WE ARE TODAY. I LOVE MY MOM. ALL THIS MAKES HER SO SPECIAL!!

Daughter GABRIELLE BRUBAKER AGE 10-Mother DENISE BRUBAKER- FREMONT

25)…My Mother is so special to me in so many ways. My mom always keeps her promises of doing fun things with me even if she’s sick, just because she loves me. Also my mom is always there for me if I’m sick, hurt, or in any trouble or problems with any of my family members or friends.

If I’m at school and something is wrong and I call my mom at work to come and pick me up, she’s there in a second. Even though my moms a single mom with two girls (my sister and I), she’s always able to provide food on our plates, clothes on our backs, and a warm roof over our heads.

My mom always makes sure that I am in church on Sunday. The Sunday School or on Wednesday in my youth group. My mom has struggled every now and then with money or personal needs, but she always gives me the live I need when somethings not right. If I have any school events, my mom either takes her lunch break off or the whole day off to come and see me. My mom is the best and only mom I’ll ever have. That’s why my mom is so beautiful, talented, loving, giving, heartwarming and special to me. Thank you Lifestyles for taking time to read my letter!

Your friend,Kiera Hall, age 11 for Mother Dawn Clark-Fremont

26) My mom is special for many reasons. One thing is she is very talented and she can do anything. She helps everyone that needs help. My mom is an easy person to talk to because she listens to you. She takes my sister and I to do a lot of things with us. She works really hard to. She does the best that she can do. She does all the right things to set a good example for my sister and me. She also cares about us, she will do anything for us. My mom is very patient, she will do anything without getting mad. When my sister and me are in any sports she helps out a lot, like when the coaches and I need money she helps out in funraisers. My mom is always there to support us and to cheer me on. When I’m loney, sad, mad, depressed she is always there to talk and to help solve your problems that you have. She is very beautiful to! My mom is a very sunny person, she likes to have fun, and she’s a fun person to hang around with.

Yes, she is special, very special to me and her name is Dawn Clark. She has also been a single mother for 13 years. Happy Mother’s Day! Daughter Cheyenne Clark, age 12 for Mother Dawn Clark-Fremont

27)I would like to nominate my mom Karen to win a family trip to Kalahari.
My mom is special to me because she does so much for my two kids and I. When I need diapers or formula she never hesitates to buy them for me, even if she does not have the extra money to do so.
My mom is special to me because she puts everybody before herself. She would rather give than receive. And I think it is time for her to put herself first for a change. She deserves a vacation.
I would love if my mom could win this trip because I really think she deserves this. She is a very hard working woman. I would really just love to see her get away for a couple days and see what it feels like to receive instead of giving all the time.
I would love to give back to my mom by rewarding her with this special trip. I love my mom so much and I just want to see her happy for a change.
Daughter Tiffany LaCourse-Sandusky

28) Why I think my mom is special?
I believe I have been truly blessed with a special mom. Not many people can say they are given someone who does such a great job as a mom, as well as someone they would consider a close friend.

My mom is what I call one tough cookie. She doesn't take anything from anybody and is never afraid to stand up for what she believes in. She loves to help people in anyway possible. When one of her best friends was diagnosed with Hodgkinsons Disease, she got right on the horn and made sure her three children had rides, went to the grocery store for them, and even organized a meal plan for them different families could cook for them. For this, she won the "Make a Difference Day" award. When she received the award I remember her saying," I don't think I really needed an award for this, I'm just helping my friend."

Ten yers later she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Through her whole ordeal, I never once heard her complain or lose strength. She kept her head high and showed us how to stay strong. I admire her for her strength and her compassion. I love you!

29) I would like to start out by saying no one is a perfect mom. But the thing that makes a person special is when against all odds they manage to keep going, which brings me to my mom. My mom has been though many changes in her life, physical as well as mental. My mom’s ex-husband was aggressive as violent. She got married in her twenties, she already had two kids, after her marriage she had two more. She thought she had a good life for us four now. But when she seen that the marriage was unhealthy, she left him and now she is a single mom again. Raising us has been so hard for her, but she tries so hard for us. If we need something she tries to get it for us. She tries to understand and be fair with us.

And that is why I think my mom is special.

Daughter Salrina Wadsworth for Mother Nicole Wadsworth

502 Pine Street-Fremont 30) My mom is truly special! My mom has raised five kids and I know it hasn’t been easy. She had two older girls, ages 23 and 24, then went through a divorce. A few years later she married my daddy and had twins and me. The twins are twelve and I’m thirteen. Then my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. This was really hard for my mom but she was there for my dad every minute. We were still little, so my mom also had to take care of us in the meantime. I know she was struggling and my dad kept getting worse and he died on the twin’s birthday.

My mom was extremely depressed everyday and didn’t have any time for herself because she was trying to help us get over my daddy’s passing. My mom tries so hard to make ends meet. My mom has overcome so much grief. She’s my angel, she always there for us and deserves so much more. Everything else comes first to her. She’s always helping out her family and others. She is an extraordinary woman. She just needs time to relax and let our family get closer.

 31) My Mom is so special because of all the things she does for me and my baby sister Ava.

Every night she rocks Ava to sleep then reads books to me, she lays in bed with me listening to

music and talking about our day. My mom takes me to the library where we pick out books then

off to Divinci's where i get hot chocolate and she reads the books. We also go to Spiegal Grove

and walk or ride bikes and feed the squirrels. My mom takes me to many different places,

like Cosi, Cedar Point, and Chuck E. Cheese. Each summer we take the ferry boat to Kelley's

Island and ride all around in a golf cart. She takes me to Whitestar beach because i love to swim.

Every friday night we have movie night with pop and popcorn. We ride our bikes on the bike trail

and my mom makes me wear my helmet so that I'm safe. We play games together, my favorite

is Uno. We make gingerbread houses and cookies at Christmas. My mom is nice, funny and

pretty but I think she is so special because my mom is my BEST FRIEND.

32) Besides being special for all the qualities you hope to have in a Mom, my Mom has always exceeded those and especially in the last year. My Mom lost her husband, the love of her life of 50 years, last year on May 9. He had cancer for 9 months and my Mom was beside him every step of the way and was at his bedside when he passed on. It was and continues to be devastating. Her world has been completely torn apart and turned upside down.
There was a time when my Dad was ill that she felt she couldn't on herself, but thankfully she thought of her 4 grown children and knew what it would do to us to lose both parents and so she chose to go on. Day after day she tries to pick up the pieces to rebuild a new life, but continuously receives criticism and negativity from some of those around her.
They don't approve of her changing from the way they have always known her to be. I hope my Mom keeps trying to move forward even though there are large obstacles and people's criticism keep pulling her down. I Love You, Mom!
Thank you,

33) Why is my mom so special? For me this question is easy although hard to simplify in 150-200 words. I would need no limitations to describing just why my mom is so special. In having to choose just one answer I suppose the easiest to explain is her quality of never being selfish. My mother is involved in numerous community activities. She is the chair for Sandusky County Ambassadors, a director for the Clyde Exchange Club and a member of the Leadership of Sandusky County. She had been employed at First Financial Bank for 5 years and works very hard in demonstrating to my brother and I the importance of work ethics. Even though many of her hours are dedicated to the community she has always managed to find the time to make it to all of our school activities and sporting events. My mother has lived with the pains of arthritis for many years, yet the smile on her face and her strength to give to others would never show the pain I have seen her struggle with most of my life. My mother is an amazing strong woman with the most wonderful and loving personality of any one that I know. Because of these reasons my mother is not only my hero but my best friend.

34) Our mother is special because she helps us with our homework, takes us to places we need to go and feeds us great breakfasts, lunches and dinners! She is a doctor and nurse all rolled into one--she fixes all of our hurts. She's a good listener and doesn't judge most of the time. She's also the referee in every fight-big or small that we have, she never takes sides. She's the cheer person during the ball games.
Although overworked and underpaid, mom doesn't complain. She would work her fingers to the bone for us. She is also "Mom" to nine first graders and loves her teaching job. She is the light at the end of the tunnel----she is our MOM!!

35) My mother is so special to me because for one she is my mom. There is no mother in the world that is alike. She brought me in to this world. I appreciate that she tried her hardest to raise my three brothers and I on her own. Even when we got in trouble she stood by us through thick and thin. She gave us all the love a mother could. When I was young and got pregnant I knew I broke her heart but she still stuck by my side like any mother would. She made me stay in still school so I could get a good education and I thank her for that. She helped me to be a good mother to my children. Anytime I need someone to talk to she is always there. These things are just some of the thing that make her so special to me. The best of all is that she is not just my mother she is my best friend.

39) I would enter my mom but I don’t live with her right now. I don’t know if I can but I’m going to put my grandma down and hope for the best. Here we go. My mom has some problems, but my grandparents were asked if they would take me in for awhile and they said yes. Then they were asked if they would take the other siblings in, my two sisters Iris age 7, and Molly, 18 months, and my brother Destin, 6 years old, they said yes because they didn’t want us separated in foster homes. So we have been living, but not so great. My grandparents are pretty old and both work full time, so you can probably imagine what were going through. Were always rushing for everything, we could definitely use a vacation. And everything they do is for us and I appreciate that very much, and I think my grandma deserves something special. Thank you for reading why I think my grandmother is special.

 40) Everyone has a mother whether he or she knows her or not. Moms are each special in their own way. Some moms can be overly strict while others can be gentle and kind.

My mom is not the everyday mom. She is very important to me. She knows how to calm and comfort me when I am down. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis less than a year ago. She is now unemployed yet still manages to cook, clean, do the laundry, plant flowers, do yard work and watch her granddaughter three times a week. She dreads the day when she can no longer use her legs. She will then be confined to a wheelchair.

She is very strong inside and out. She is my biggest fan and always believes in me. Even whe she is not here anymore, she will be in my heart and my soul the rest of my life. I love my mom very much. She will always be there for me and I am glad she is my mom.

41) My mother is special for many reasons. She’s my angel, my hero and my rock. She is special because she’s been raising three girls alone for the past eighteen years, working two jobs and going to school. My mom is special because she’s a fighter. Being in an abusive relationship for years while raising a bi-polar child and always being told you can’t do it has yet to stop her. My mom is so special because my two sisters and I have never truly felt the negative effects the real world presents. No matter what may go on my mom is always making a way and standing strong. She is an inspiration and is the person who drives me and my two bi-racial sisters to live above statistics and work to be strong, intelligent women. My mom is special because of her kind heart, she is a giver not only to family but to any person who comes to her. My mother is special because she raised three successful young women during a time when she was constantly being told she couldn’t do it. And because through everything our family has been through she’s remained strong. My mothers importance goes beyond understanding.

Daughter Jade Castile, age 15 -Norwalk

  1. What makes my mom special is her heart full of love that God gave her. I only know this because she only became my mom about six years ago. As a child, I grew up in a family that was very abusive and loveless. I longed for more than 20 years for a mother to love me and to fill my emptiness I had in my heart. I met Janette Karr when I started to work at the School of Hope. One day kidding around she was telling me what to do and how to do it. I just said, "okay mother". That’s all it took. From that point on I had a mom. Now when I cry someone is there to wipe my tears away and when I laugh someone is there to share my joy. I prayed to God to bring me a mom, and after waiting as long as he did, I know why it took so long. He sent me the perfect mom with a heart full of love to give and I thank God everyday for answering my prayers.

  2. Why is my mom so special? Because she is nice, pretty, funny and loves me more than anybody else. My mom cooks good food for supper. She reads books to us. She takes really good care of my sisters and I. My mom is special because my mawmaw made her special. She helps out at school and is really nice to our friends. We have sleepovers all the time at our house and mom takes us to our friends house so we can have fun with them. My mom teaches us to be nice to others. Sometimes we get to go to work with her. She takes good care of us when we are sick. She tells me I’m smart funny and beautiful. We do crafts and to on walks. We love nature walks the most. Also our favorite is the movies especially the drive-in. Mom brings lots of snacks. Someday I hope I am as special as my mom.

Daughter Kayla Strause, 7 years old-Bellevue

 44) My mom, Sharon, is a very special lady! She has always stuck by my side no matter what the circumstances were. I'm 33 years old and when I'm feeling down, I can call my mom, I'll never out-grow her. My mom supports every decision I've made and does not hold anything against me for the bad decisions I've made in life. She is one of the most giving human beings I know. Every time someone at her work place needs help buying maternity clothes, needs to put food on their table, or needs help paying for their electric bill, she is the first person to stand up and give what she has. My mom will even go as far as knitting a baby blanket for someone who is in need. She has given so much to her three children and the general public it would make anyone form a tear in their eye.

Along with giving, I believe my mother believes in the phrase, "what comes around, goes around." She has had a rough life, losing her husband in the late 80s to cancer and still tending to a rebellious teenage son. I just want my mom to know, I love her and appreciate her immensely!

45) My Mom is as cool as hitting a homerun. I love her because she loves me to death. One day she told me that she love me as much as the blue space up above. She lets me play sports which is my passion. She sacrifices her time just for me. My Mother makes sure I'm safe, no matter where we are. She is going to school to insure that we have a better future. The reason she is going to school is so she can be a nurse and take care of my Grandmother and me. She teaches me to play baseball. Also she teaches me right from wrong and respect. She has take to Kalahari, Michigan and Cedar Point. The best place she has ever taken me was to my Grandparents' house to live when I was a month old. She's teaching me to be a thoughtful and loving person by example. That is why I 'm so lucky to have her as my MOM.

46)

My Mom is special because it's always warm hugs and sweet kisses, bedtime stories, good nite kisses. She enjouyes our time together. She teaches me how to cook. She thinks I'm good at cooling for an 8 year old. She also teaches me to sew, she thinks I'm good at that too. She likes to take me shopping. She lets me go every where she goes and I like that too. She loves me when I do wrong and I like that too. When I hert she is there to make me better. When I am sad she cheers me up. My Mom is a sweet as a shuge cookie. and that is what I like about her. She lets me go to dance. She even let me get an American girl. She let me get lots of books because I love to read. She got me a toy flower for my birthday.

47) My mom is special because, she is a great person and role model. She is the best mom in the UNIVERSE! My mom takes care of me and my brother and two sisters very well. She always makes us smile. She always does things special for us; so I want to do something special for her, that’s why I entered this contest.

My mom has never been to a spa in her life and she deserves to be spoiled very once in awhile! I know my mom would give up the world for me and my brother and sisters, that’s why I love her so much.

My mom got us a puppy recently, it is so cute! It’s a Chihuahua, she takes care of him as well as she does us, which is a good thin.

She works a full time job at a place she hates but she still works there so she’ll have money to take care of us. She really would like to go to college to become a nurse because she loves babies.

Joshua Heard-Fremont

48) My mom is special because, she is funny, awesome, really nice, terrific, lovable, normal. My mom also graduated from college as a paralegal. She works really hard for a lawyer in Fremont. She works hard around the house so me and my sister have a nice place to live. She goes to the store to by food, toothpaste, juice and school supplies for us. We love our mom because she raised us all by herself and me and my sister cannot thank her enough we both think she is perfect and just so awesome me and my sister have so many good names we would like to write down but it is just to many that we couldn’t count that high so we did not write all of the rest on here. Our mom sometimes puts our neighbors on the bus. We all get together in the living room and talk about our safety and we’ll cuddle up with her and sometimes read a book together. This is how I think my mom is special and I want to grow up to be just like her.

Kaitlyn & Alex Rawls- Clyde

 49) My mom is the Best! She helps me whenever I need help. My mom is nice, sweet, caring, helpful, and she is also very pretty. I also like to help my mom. When she is sick I get her soup. It’s the same with me. I love my mom so much! My family wanted to go to Kalahari but we couldn’t afford it. If I had one wish in my whole life it would be for my mom to live in happyness and joy for all eternity.

My mom is in college earning her masters degree and she has been working very hard, and I think she needs a break! My beautiful mom and I love to spend time together. She always knows what I want, and I always know what she wants. My mom waited 11 years for a little girl and when I was born she was so excited that I was a girl. But when I was born I barely had any hair and now I have tons. Anyways my mom is the best! I LOVE YOU MOM!!!

Jessica Jenkins-Fremont

50) My mom is very special because when my baby brother Noah went back to Heaven for his first birthday she helped me and my daddy cry and feel better. She kept going back to the doctor so she could get better to make another baby brother for me. And now my new baby brother Isaiah was born on December 20, 2006 and he makes all of us laugh and be happy again. I feed him and I change his diaper when he is wet, and I carry him around the house so he can see everything. He cannot go out of the house except to the doctors because he had bacterial meningitis, so for the first three years of his life he cannot go out of the house from October until May every year. My name is Karamya Angel Cabler, and I will be 6 years old on April 24, 2007. My Grandmom is helping me write this because she writes what I want to say from my heart, and my Grandmom loves me just like my mommy does. Thank you for giving my mommy a chance to go on vacation and play with me and my daddy and my baby brother. That's all I guess because I'm getting too tired to say any more. Bye.

 Karamya Cabler-Sandusky

We can't afford email but my Grandmom & Granddad have email!

51.   My Mom is special besides buying me stuff.  She is special in my heart.  She helps with my homework.  It has been hard for her for this past year.  She kept going for me.  I don't care if other people don't like her.  Well guess what? I love her so I really don't care.  She helps me when I get hurt.  She fills a hole in my heart called love.  She is very special to me.  She is always trying to keep me up when I'm down.  My Mom stands beside me every day.

So that empty space that you have in your heart is love.  A doctor couldn't give you that.  Well no ordinary doctor.  That doctor is your Mom.  She keeps me going.  I help her out.  And she repays me by helping me.  I probably couldn't keep up with life without her.  She is real special to me.  I mean just because your Mom buys you stuff, it isn't going to fill that empty space that you feel in your heart.  You have to actually love your Mom.  Some kids don't even have a Mom so all I'm saying is be thankful for what you got.
