Out to Lunch!

Out to Lunch

By Joanne McDowell

Okay everyone; I almost hate to give this one up as every time we go there we wait in a long line-but then again it may be all of you in that line!

Yesterday I had a perch craving around 2:30p.m. so we headed for Jolly Roger on East Perry Street in Port Clinton.  Thinking it was the perfect time to go and not get caught in a stampede, we arrived around 3p.m., to a crowd!

Miss O'Dell

Miss O’Dell

By Helen Marketti

To be part of an inner rock and roll circle where trust was earned, not just given was a place that Chris O’Dell found herself in during the late 60s.  If Chris had not taken the leap of faith to move from Tucson to LA and embark on a new way of life - certainly things would have turned out completely different.

Life as a Temptation

By Helen Marketti

"Motown music was the primary influence for me.  There was extraordinary presentation.  You could look at them (The Temptations) and see they were unlike any other group.  The way they appeared, performed and sang influenced me the most."  Sharing his thoughts about the singing group he idolized as a teenager Damon Harris would later find himself right in the midst of their presence as he became a "second generation" member of the group replacing his vocal hero, Eddie Kendricks.

Eddie Kendricks, Damon sang the falsetto highs that matched Eddie's.  He perfected the sound of his idol during his high school days so much so that others would comment on how much they sounded alike.  "To me Eddie was the total package.  First of all he had a lot of attention from the women," Damon laughs. "His sound, his manner on stage and his charisma was very compelling."

The Beatles in Cleveland

The Beatles In Cleveland

By Helen Marketti

The last line of the concert poster reads "Don't Miss this Historic Show!"  Historic indeed as the ticket prices alone seem embarrassing by today's rock and roll standards.

Rock To The Top

Spending many years as a top rock and roll radio host in Houston, Texas provided Dayna Steele with a career that she was passionate about and an experience that would be a valuable resource for years to come.
